Advantage Aging Solutions Area Agency on Aging for North Florida - Advantage Aging Solutions coordinates a variety of home and community-based services through contracts with local providers in fourteen North Florida counties to assist seniors, people with disabilities and their caregivers.
All programs are designed to maximize our clients' independence and security while they age in place.

Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) - The Department of Elder Affairs
The Department of Elder Affairs administers programs and services for elders across the state of Florida through 11 Area Agencies on Aging, which operate as Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs). These ADRCs function as a single, coordinated system for information and access to services for all Floridians seeking long-term care resources. The ADRCs provide information and assistance about state and federal benefits, as well as available local programs and services.
The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia--by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. The Alzheimer's Project provides comfort, support, and assistance to persons with memory disorders and their caregivers across the Big Bend area of Florida. They offer Respite Services, Caregiver Support Groups, Educational Courses for Caregivers, and Counseling.

Big Bend Area Health Education Center (BBAHEC) is an independent non-profit organization established in 1995. Their mission is to provide health education and promote partnerships to improve community health. BBAHEC seeks to be the driving force toward optimal health for thriving, kind, and equitable communities.
BBAHEC provides services across 14 counties in the Florida Panhandle, including Taylor, Madison,
Jefferson, Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, Franklin, Gulf, Bay, Calhoun, Liberty, Jackson, Washington, and
Holmes Counties. Their programs include diabetes education, tobacco cessation, a matter of balance,
chronic disease self-management education, nutrition education and cooking demonstrations,
community fitness classes, biometric health screenings health insurance navigation services, breast
cancer education, and scholarship programs for healthcare students. All of the programs are free, and
open to the public.

Elder Care Services is the leading provider of community-based senior care. Since our founding in 1970 we have been driven by compassionate and generous community members. Each year, over 800 individuals give thousands of hours of service, from delivering Meals on Wheels, to providing companionship, to supporting events. Home to one of only 13 designated Memory Disorder Clinics in Florida, funded through a grant from the Department of Elder Affairs. As part of the state’s Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative, they provide the highest level of care for patients and families across the Big Bend who are affected by memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
